Coleman got his undergraduate in Mathematics from Fort Lewis College in Durango then went on to complete Colorado Mountain College's Avalanche Science Program. There he found his passion for snow science and studying the complexities of a seasonal snowpack. After teaching high school math for two years, Coleman decided to return to school to learn more about snow processes and remote sensing. When he's not digging pits, you'll likely find him exploring Boise's foothill trail system, bikepacking, woodworking, or ski touring.
