Julia is pursuing a Master’s degree in geophysics looking at snow water equivalent using InSAR imagery. She will be using machine learning and UAVSAR data collected during NASA’s SnowEx campaign to look at how coherence changes in different environments. Prior to Boise State, Julia worked at the National Snow and Ice Data Center at CU Boulder helping to publish and manage NASA’s cryospheric data, primarily the MODIS, VIIRS, and SnowEx missions. While earning her bachelor's degree from Tufts University, she worked on research relating phytoplankton communities on the Atlantic coast to optical signatures. Outside of academics, Julia enjoys outdoor recreation on a bike or skis, ultimate frisbee, pottery and other crafts, and word games.
