Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Otto is a snow hydrologist and a postdoctoral research fellow with the LEAF Lab at Boise State University. Otto works closely with the Agricultural Research Service, the Henry's Fork Foundation, and members of the CryoGARS Lab. Originally from Pocatello, Otto has a B.S. in Geology from Fort Lewis College, an M.S. in Geology from the University of Utah, and a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Utah. His research focuses on how snow accumulates and melts in mountain watersheds and how these processes influence water resources and water management across the Intermountain West. He particularly enjoys fieldwork and connecting field observations to models of snowmelt and runoff. In his free time, Otto enjoys all forms of skiing, mountain biking, fly fishing, and exploring remote mountain ranges.Â
